I really love “AB2011 is a mold with a larger aperture, allowing more housing to go through. At the same time, it’s also forcing that additional housing into a particular kind of shape (i.e. shipping containers attached to a Costco).” Great description of California’s preeminent housing bill in 2022!
I hope one day we’ll look back and feel shocked that this was what a huge paradigm shift looked like (by changing baseline labor standards in housing legislation from skilled and trained to prevailing wage) because we’ll have completely shifted so many other paradigms
Pretty sure ppl gonna be asking why there are shipping container apartments around Costco starting Day One…
Pretty sure they’re not actually going to be shipping containers.
Love the Play-Doh metaphor!

One day, we'll have a hard time explaining to the children why it was ever so hard to build a duplex.
Here for the humorous footnote 😂
More on the way lol
Do it Costco
Fascinating
