I really love “AB2011 is a mold with a larger aperture, allowing more housing to go through. At the same time, it’s also forcing that additional housing into a particular kind of shape (i.e. shipping containers attached to a Costco).” Great description of California’s preeminent housing bill in 2022!

I hope one day we’ll look back and feel shocked that this was what a huge paradigm shift looked like (by changing baseline labor standards in housing legislation from skilled and trained to prevailing wage) because we’ll have completely shifted so many other paradigms
